Composite Sketch Released in Fatal Shooting at 8300 Chateau Forest

April 29, 2008 - Investigators in the Houston Police Department’s Homicide Division are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man in the 8300 block of Chateau Forest about 2:30 a.m. on Sunday (Apr. 26). 

The suspect is described only as a light-skinned black male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, with shoulder length braids.  He was wearing all black clothing with long sleeves and was last seen in a beige four-door vehicle with dark tinted windows.  A composite sketch of the suspect is attached to this news release.

The victim, Troy Patrick Fontenot, 42, of Houston, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers R. W. Chappell and R.A. Moreno reported: 

Mr. Fontenot was standing in the street talking to an acquaintance when unknown suspects approached.  One of the suspects pointed a pistol at Fontenot and demanded his belongings.  When Fontenot tried to run away, he was shot several times by the suspect.
