Charges Filed in Death at 5838 Hirondel

August 4, 2009 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the death of a man at 5838 Hirondel about 11:55 p.m. Sunday (August 2).

The suspect, Robert Fulton Burns (w/m, DOB: 2-16-67), is charged with murder in the 338th State District Court.

The victim, Lewis Holiday, 41, of the above address, suffered trauma to his head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants W. Meeler and T. Griffin reported:

Mr. Holiday was found deceased in his apartment by his girlfriend. He was struck in the head several times with an axe. His roommate, Burns, was missing but was found at a hotel a short distance away.

Further investigation developed information that identified Burns as the suspect in Holiday’s death. Burns admitted to his role in the incident and was then taken into custody.
