Fatal Traffic Accident at Durham and North Loop Service Road

January 15, 2008 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at the intersection of Durham and the North Loop (Interstate Highway 610 North) service road about 12:30 a.m. today (Jan. 15).

The male victim, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. S. Runyan and Officer J. Lin reported:

A silver four-door Cadillac, with two 18-year-old males and an 18-year-old female inside, was traveling at a high rate of speed on Durham. The driver then lost control of the Cadillac, which rolled and ended up on its side in a small stand of trees in a restaurant parking lot. Both males were ejected from the vehicle. The victim was killed and the other male was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition. The female was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital with neck injuries.

It has not been determined as of yet who was driving the vehicle. The investigation is continuing.
