Charges Filed in Fatal Shooting at 7136 Clarewood

July 13, 2009 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 7136 Clarewood about 3:30 a.m. on Sunday (July 12). 

The suspect, Eric Victoriano Hernandez (H/m, DOB: 7-10-88) is charged with murder in the 262nd State District Court.  He is accused in the murder of Carlos Roque, 17, of Houston, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital Southwest where he was pronounced dead. 

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Anthony and Senior Police Officer R. Chappell reported: 

Mr. Roque and several witnesses arrived at a nightclub parking lot at 7136 Clarewood as the club was closing.  At some point, there was an argument with another group of males and Hernandez pulled out a gun and shot Roque several times.  The suspects fled the scene in a gold four-door vehicle, possibly a Chevrolet Impala. 

Further investigation and witness statements identified Hernandez as the suspect in this case, and on Thursday (July 15) he was taken into custody.
