Suspect Sought in Fatal Shooting at 3720 Harrisburg

June 4, 2009 - Houston police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of two men at 3720 Harrisburg about 8:20 a.m. on Wednesday (June 3). 

The suspect is described only as a black male, 21 to 22 years of age, with a black shirt and black pants. 

One victim, Shahzad Anwer Quraishi, 57, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.  The other victim, Mohammad Aziz Zubair, 55, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers R. A. Moreno and D. W. Arnold reported: 

Patrol officers responded to a shooting and robbery call at 3720 Harrisburg and found Zubair and Quraishi had been shot.  An investigation determined Zubair called 9-1-1 during the incident and provided a description of the suspect.  Further investigation determined there had been an apparent struggle at the scene.  A vehicle described as a white, extended cab pickup truck, possibly Ford or Chevrolet, was seen parked on Milby Street at the time of the incident.  The occupants of the vehicle are being sought as witnesses at this time.
