Charges Filed in Fatal Traffic Accident at 13100 Gulf Freeway

June 8, 2009 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested following a fatal traffic accident in the 13100 block of the Gulf Freeway (Interstate Highway 45 South) service road about 8:30 p.m. on Saturday (June 6). 

The suspect, Ireri Perez (H/f, DOB: 9-27-75), is charged with criminally negligent homicide in the 338th State District Court. 

The victim, Kenneth Flolo, 47, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. A. Gonzalez and Officer P. Tran reported: 

Mr. Flolo was operating a black Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on the service road of the Gulf Freeway and attempted to enter the freeway when he struck the backside of a white Ford Explorer, driven by Perez.  At that time, the Explorer was attempting to back down the entrance ramp.  Perez, who was not injured in this incident, was taken into custody.
