Composite Sketch Released in Fatal Shooting at 3720 Harrisburg

June 12, 2009 - Houston police homicide investigators have released a composite sketch of a male wanted as a person of interest for questioning in the fatal shooting of two men at 3720 Harrisburg about 8:20 a.m. on June 3. 

The person of interest is described only as a dark-complected black male, 19 to 22 years of age, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing more than 130 pounds with a stocky build.  He was wearing a black shirt and longer black shorts or pants.  A copy of the composite sketch is attached to this news release.

One victim, Shahzad Anwer Quraishi, 57, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.  The other victim, Mohammad Aziz Zubair, 55, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers R. A. Moreno and D. W. Arnold reported: 

Patrol officers responded to a shooting and robbery call at 3720 Harrisburg and found Mr. Zubair and Mr. Quraishi had been shot.  An investigation determined Zubair called 9-1-1 during the incident and provided a description of the suspect.  Further investigation determined there had been an apparent struggle at the scene.  The male in the composite sketch was seen by witnesses hanging out near the store.
