Charges Filed in Fatal Shooting at 5300 Van Zandt

June 22, 2009 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man in the 5300 block of Van Zandt about 9 p.m. on Thursday (June 18). 

The suspect, Lee Joseph (b/m/, DOB: 3-5-54), is charged with murder in the 208th State District Court.  He is accused in the killing of Edward Colomb, 37, of Humble.  Mr. Colomb suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants R.D. Chandler and O. L. Chandler reported: 

Mr. Colomb and Joseph got into an argument over payment of services in a previous business arrangement.  At some point during the argument, Joseph got upset, produced a handgun and shot in the direction of Colomb and several other people.  Colomb was struck several times and then attempted to run from Joseph but collapsed a short distance from the scene.  Joseph was arrested a short time later without incident.
