Drowning Investigation at 3511 Dalmatian

June 24, 2009 - Houston police are investigating the drowning of a male at 3511 Dalmatian about 9:40 p.m. on Wednesday (June 24).

The victim, Patrick Allen Dixon, 29, of Houston, was transported to The Methodist Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Elliott and Senior Officer A. Mares reported:

The victim was a friend of the homeowner and arrived at her house and asked to go swimming. The resident agreed and Mr. Dixon entered the pool in the shallow end and began to swim. The resident went inside her house and when she returned she plugged in a radio and turned on the pool light. At that time she saw Dixon at the bottom of the pool in the deep end and jumped in and pulled him to the shallow end of the pool. The resident called for help and neighbors arrived to help pull Dixon out of the pool and begin CPR. Dixon was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
