Traffic Accident Injures Three People, Including an Hpd Officer, at 5300 Cavalcade

May 4, 2009 - A Houston police officer was treated for minor injuries after a car turned in front of his police vehicle at 5300 Cavalcade about 10 p.m. Friday (May 1).

Officer K. Parker was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital, but returned to the scene a short time later.  The driver of a Chevrolet Malibu was transported to Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital with minor injuries.  The Malibu’s passenger was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital with a fractured jaw and wrist.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Chambers reported:

The gold Malibu was traveling eastbound on Cavalcade when it attempted to make a left turn without yielding at the intersection of Cavalcade and Lockwood.  The HPD vehicle driven by Officer Parker was traveling westbound on Cavalcade and struck the Malibu in the right front passenger side.  The driver of the Malibu was issued a citation.
