Investigation into Death of a Child at 621 Fannin

May 7, 2009 - Houston police are investigating the death of a child at 621 Fannin about 11:20 p.m. on Wednesday (May 6).

The girl, 5, was taken to Texas Children’s Hospital where she was pronounced dead.  Doctors believe an irregular heart condition could have contributed to her death, but the official cause is pending an autopsy by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Homicide Division Officer D. K. Gunter reported:

The parents of the girl called emergency crews after they were unable to wake her.  The child was transported to Texas Children’s Hospital where medical personnel were unable to revive her.

The investigation is continuing.
