Fatal Traffic Accident at 900 North Freeway

May 11, 2009 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 900 North Freeway (Interstate Highway 45) about 6:28 a.m. on Sunday (May 10). 

A female victim was pronounced dead at the scene.  Her identification is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Senior Police Officer R. Brashier reported: 

A Honda Civic was traveling southbound on the North Freeway when it lost control, began to spin, and collided head on with a Hyundai Elantra, which was also traveling southbound.  The driver of the Civic was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.  The driver of the Elantra was pronounced dead at the scene.
