Fatal Traffic Accident at 8300 North Loop East

October 15, 2009 - A driver involved in a traffic accident at 8300 North Loop East (Interstate Highway 610) about 7 p.m. on October 2 has died from his injuries.

The identity of the male victim, 32, is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office. He was pronounced dead at East Houston Regional Hospital on Tuesday (Oct. 13).

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J.P. Miller and Northeast Patrol Division Officer P. Garcia reported:

The victim was driving a green Chevrolet 1500 truck when he changed lanes in an unsafe manner and struck another vehicle, a silver Dodge Charger. Persons from both vehicles were transported to LBJ Hospital for non life-threatening injuries. The victim refused medical treatment and walked out of the hospital.

Eleven days later, on Tuesday, the victim checked in to East Houston Regional Hospital suffering from stomach pains. He died several hours later and an autopsy revealed he died from injuries sustained in the traffic accident.
