Investigation into Deaths at 12000 Martin Luther King Boulevard


August 3, 2010 - Houston police are investigating the deaths of two males found at 12000 Martin Luther King Boulevard #1013 about 1:30 a.m. today.

The two victims, ages 47 and 16, of the above address, were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities are pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Officers P. Vela and N. Wackman reported:

Officers responded to a fire at the Park Houston apartment complex. The apartment had three occupants, one of which was able to escape. The fire appears to have started in a back bedroom and spread throughout the unit. The surviving occupant had attempted to rescue the other two persons inside, but was unable to carry them and became overwhelmed by smoke.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Houston Fire Department Arson Division and, at this time, no foul play is expected. Autopsies are being conducted on the victims to determine their causes of death.
