Suspect Wanted in Fatal Traffic Accident on South Gessner at Richmond


December 20, 2010 - Houston police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a suspect wanted in a fatal traffic accident on South Gessner at Richmond about 10:45 a.m. on Saturday (Dec. 18).

The suspect is described only as a black male in his 20s or 30s.  He is wanted in the death of an elderly woman, 83, who was pronounced dead at an area hospital.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant C. Love and Officer E. Rubio reported:

The wanted suspect was driving a black Cadillac northbound on South Gessner when he ran the red light at Richmond Avenue and struck a silver Toyota Corolla traveling east on Richmond.  The Toyota then struck a red Honda Civic, which in turn struck a white Toyota Matrix.  The Cadillac then hit a white commercial truck, a utility pole and then caught fire.  The driver (suspect) fled on foot.  Paramedics transported the driver of the Toyota (female victim) to the hospital where she died.
