Fatal Shooting at 8400 South Gessner


July 6, 2010 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 8400 South Gessner about 4:40 a.m. on Sunday (July 4). 


The victim, age unknown, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. 


HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers J. Cornelius and R. Bolton reported: 


The victim and witnesses were leaving a night club at the above location and were approached by an unknown male suspect.  The suspect made some disrespectful remarks to the female witnesses and the victim intervened.  The suspect walked off but returned a few moments later, armed with a pistol.  The suspect pointed the pistol at two of the witnesses and asked where the victim was.  The witnesses stated they did not know and then ran to get a security guard.  Witnesses then saw the suspect shoot at the victim’s feet and then walk to victim, put his arm around him and shoot the victim in the chest. 


The suspect, described only as a Hispanic male, was last seen in a red 1990 or 2000 Ford F-150 pickup truck with Rhode Island license plates 18C-XJ4
