Fatal Traffic Accident at 9000 Accident Southwest Freeway Service Road
July 12, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 9000 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) service road about 4 a.m. on Sunday (July 11).
The male victim was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Calley and Senior Police Officer E. Simpson reported:
The motorcyclist was northbound on the Southwest Freeway service road when he failed to maintain a single lane. The black Honda Shadow motorcycle then struck the curb of the concrete median causing the operator to lose control and slide into the center median.
No one else was injured in this incident.
