HPD Dive Team Receives New Rescue Equipment

November 9, 2010 - Members of the Houston Police Department Dive Team Unit are recipients of new water rescue equipment.

The equipment was funded by the Laci and Conner Search and Rescue Fund.  The rescue fund was founded in 2005 by Sharon Rocha in memory of her daughter, Laci, and grandson, Conner.  The fund provides financial assistance to law enforcement agencies and non-profit organizations involved in search and rescue to help improve their efforts to safely return missing persons to their loved ones.

A photo of three new sets of swift water rescue gear worn by dive team officers is attached to this news release.  The grant money awarded to HPD for the equipment was approximately $1,175.
