Fatal Shooting at 1319 Bayou Oaks Vista Drive

November 17, 2010 - The fatal shooting of an armed male suspect by another male at 1319 Bayou Oaks Vista Drive about 8:50 a.m. on Monday (Nov. 15) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The suspect, Joffrey Lionel Jeffery (b/m, DOB: 8-11-74) suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.  The shooter, 26, a resident of the above location, was not injured.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants O. Chandler and J. Rohling reported:

Armed with a handgun, Jeffery arrived at the above location and demanded money from a male resident.  Jeffery then assaulted the resident several times with the handgun before the resident and a visiting friend fled upstairs.  Jeffery shot the friend in the leg, prompting the resident to return fire, fatally striking Jeffery.
