November 19, 2010 - Houston police are seeking the public’s help in locating a man wanted for questioning for his role in the fatal shooting of a man found at 4600 Blaffer Street about 8:30 a.m. on Sunday (Nov. 14).

The victim, Jason Waldrup, 22, of Houston, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Harris and Senior Police Officer M. Waters II reported:

Mr. Waldrup was found lying in the 4600 Block of Blaffer St with a head wound, but appeared to be breathing.  The person who found him called 9-1-1.  Paramedics transported Waldrup to Ben Taub General Hospital.

Further investigation revealed Mr. Waldrup was last seen getting into a gray 2006 Mitsubishi Gallant with Texas license plates 948-LWM.  He was accompanied by James “Anthony” Durr (b/m, DOB: 5-20-84), also known as “RBK,” who is wanted on a separate aggravated robbery charge in Harris County.  Current and past photos of Durr and a gray Mitsubishi Gallant, similar to the one Mr. Waldrup was seen entering, are attached to this news release.

In the last week, Durr is also suspected of participating in robberies and other violent crimes in Houston as well as Harris and Fort Bend Counties.  He should be considered extremely dangerous.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Durr or on this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
