Fatal Shooting at 4300 North Shepherd


November 22, 2010 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a male at 4300 North Shepherd about 11:45 p.m. on Sunday (Nov. 21).

The victim, Jose Flores, 16, of Houston, suffered a gunshot wound to the back and was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W.R. Elsbury and Senior Police Officer R.P. Martinez reported:

Mr. Flores was a passenger in a vehicle traveling on North Shepherd when he was shot.  The shooting happened after an unknown suspect and the driver of the vehicle Flores was riding in got into a verbal altercation while stopped at the red light at North Shepherd and Crosstimbers.

Flores was transported by private vehicle to the hospital where he died.

The suspect is described only as a black male, 25 to 30 years old, medium complexion, thin build (about 140 pounds), with corn rows in his hair and diamond stud earrings in each ear.  He was driving in a silver or gray Buick, possibly a Le Sabre, late 1990s model with tinted windows and a paper plate with unknown numbers.
