Investigation Into Male's Death at 5400 Wheatley


October 13, 2010 - Houston police are investigating the death of a man found in the 5400 block of Wheatley about 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday (Oct. 12).

The victim, 32, suffered a possible gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Torres and Senior Police Officer J. Johnston reported:

The victim was found lying in a drainage ditch. Shortly afterward, an abandoned vehicle was recovered in southwest Houston with physical evidence inside of it believed related to the male's death. Robbery is believed to be the motive in this incident.

There are no know suspects at this time.
