September 10, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 12800 block of the Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 9:15 p.m. on Thursday (Sept. 9). 

The identity of the male victim, 56, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. 

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Richard and Officer V. McLean reported: 

The driver of a green Lexus sport utility vehicle was traveling south on the Gulf Freeway when the victim, who was operating a black Harley Davidson motorcycle and also traveling south, made an unsafe lane change in front of the Lexus.  The Lexus then struck the motorcycle from behind and the victim lost control.  He died at the scene.  The driver of the Lexus was not injured. 

No charges have been filed at this time as the investigation is continuing.
