Fatal Traffic Accident at 8400 Howard

September 13, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 8400 block of Howard about 1:35 p.m. on Friday (Sept. 10). 

The female victim, 86, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where doctors pronounced her dead on Sunday (Sept. 12). 

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Miller, Senior Police Officer R. Tallent and Officer I. Perez reported: 

Eastside Patol officers responded to an accident at the intersection of 8400 Howard and Neal Street.  A preliminary investigation determined the driver of a 1993 beige Buick Regal  (victim) was traveling south on Neal Street and failed to yield the right of way while leaving the stop sign at the intersection of Howard.  The male driver, 18, of a 2002 green Dodge 1500 pickup truck traveling west on Howard, struck the driver's side of the Buick.  The Buick then hit a curb and flipped over.  The victim was then taken to the hospital where she later died. 

No charges have been filed at this time as the investigation is continuing.
