Suspect Charged, Wanted in Fatal Stabbing at 5353 West Alabama

April 4, 2011 - The fatal shooting of a robbery suspect at 5638 Selinsky about 3:30 p.m. last Friday (Apr. 1) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The deceased male, age unknown, suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

The male shooter, 23, was not injured in this incident.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Chandler and Senior Police Officer R. Chappell reported:

The shooter and his friend were at an apartment complex when they were approached by two unknown male suspects. Both suspects produced pistols and demanded money and cell phones. Fearing for his and his friend's life, the male shooter, who has a concealed handgun license, pulled a pistol and shot one of the suspects. The second suspect fled the scene while shooting his weapon at the vehicle. He remains at large and it is unknown at this time if he was injued during the incident.

Both the shooter and his friend were questioned and released at the scene. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the wanted suspect is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
