Investigation into Fatal Traffic Accident at 12000 Briar Forest Drive

August 2, 2011 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 12000 block of Briar Forest Drive about 2:20 a.m. today.

The female victim, 24, of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant I. Izaguirre and Officer R. Bymaster reported:

The victim was driving a white Volvo S40 at a high rate of speed westbound in the 12000 block of Briar Forest Drive when she failed to maintain a single lane and struck a tree in the median. There were no other passengers or vehicles involved in this incident.
