Investigation into Apparent Drowning of a Woman at 2022 Banks

August 8, 2011 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the apparent drowning of a woman at 2022 Banks found about 1:10 p.m. on Sunday (Aug. 7).

The victim, Bridget Blyth, 24, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her cause of death is pending an autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Meeler and Officer J. French reported:

HPD patrol officers, responding to a reported drowning at the above address, found Ms. Blyth in the backyard next to the pool.

Further investigation revealed Blyth had been drinking the night before and then went to with friends to the above address to go swimming. The friends lost track of Blyth sometime in the early morning hours and went home. They returned about 1 p.m. and discovered Blyth in the pool. The friends pulled Blyth from the pool and called 911.
