August 29, 2011 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 9400 East Hardy Toll Road about 3:35 a.m. on Sunday (Aug. 28).

The male victim, 25, was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Chambers and Officer L. Ho reported:

The victim was driving a red Mercedes SLK320 northbound at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a light pole.

No other vehicles or persons were involved in the accident.
