Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 5103 Yellowstone

August 29, 2011 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 5103 Yellowstone about 1:30 a.m. on Saturday (Aug. 27).

The victim, Charles Emerson, 27, of Houston, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers L. Lovelace and R. Olive reported:

Mr. Emerson attended a party at a nearby apartment complex. While there, he and another person got into a fight. After the fight, Emerson returned to the above address, which is an abandoned house he was known to frequent. While outside in a parking lot, someone approached Emerson and fired several gunshots. Emerson was struck several times and collapsed. Neighbors called 911 and HFD paramedics pronounced him dead.
