February 2, 2011 - Houston police are investigating the death of a man found at 7551 Scott Street about 1 a.m. today.

The victim, Alvin Irving, Jr., 59, of Houston, suffered unknown injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His cause of death is pending an autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants T. Hanslik and W. Bush reported:

An HPD officer, while on routine patrol, saw a Yellow Cab vehicle parked at the above location with its door open. Upon further investigation, Mr. Irving, the driver of the cab, was found deceased inside the vehicle.

At this time, it is not believed Irving was robbed. There are no known witnesses nor suspects in this case.
