Investigation Into Fatal Shooting at 3214 Berry


February 7, 2011 - The fatal shooting of a man at 3214 Berry about 1 p.m. on Sunday (Feb. 6) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.


The male victim, age unknown, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sgt. A Carrillo and Senior Police Officer H. Chavez reported:

The victim was staying with friends at a residence at the above location while visiting from out of town. After a night out drinking with his friends, the victim stated he was missing money and accused his friends of taking it. The victim then left the residence and came back armed with a handgun. As the victim threatened several persons inside the residence with the gun, he was shot by another male in the residence.

The male shooter and other witnesses were questioned and released at the scene.
