February 17, 2011 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 6400 Crestmont about 3:10 p.m. on Wednesday (Feb. 16).

The female victim, Mary Kaye Arvie, 56, of Houston, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Gonzales and Senior Police Officer A. Sampson reported:

The driver of a brown Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling southbound on Crestmont when she ran a red light at the South Loop (South Interstate Highway 610) service road. The pickup struck a white Toyota 4Runner, causing Ms. Arvie, a passenger, to be ejected from the Toyota. She was not wearing a seatbelt.

The investigation is continuing.
