Shots Fired Toward Officers at 4000 North Freeway

February 22, 2011 - Houston police are asking for the public's assistance in locating a suspect(s) who fired shots in the direction of two HPD officers in the 4000 block of the North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 1:50 a.m. today (Feb. 22).


The suspect(s) were seen driving in a white sedan and black sedan on the mainlanes of the freeway.

The officers were not injured.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K.R. Tolls and Officer K.L. Meek reported:

Two officers with the Vehicular Crimes Division were conducting a traffic stop on the freeway feeder road when they noticed two sedans, one white and the other black, drive by at a low speed on the mainlanes on the freeway. At that time, a person(s) from inside one or both vehicles fired about six or seven shots in the officers' general direction. The officers pursued the vehicles, but were unable to catch up to them.
