Investigation into Shooting at 9306 Spring Branch


January 4, 2011 - The shooting of a female at 9306 Spring Branch about 10 p.m. last Friday (Dec. 31) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The female, 43, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in an unknown condition.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J.M. De La Cruz and Senior Police Officer X.E. Avila reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a disturbance call at the above address and found a female who had been shot.  Further investigation determined a disturbance had occurred during a New Year's Eve family gathering which resulted in a physical altercation.  That altercation culminated in the homeowner, 79, shooting the female guest.

The investigation is continuing.
