Investigation into Incident at 3826 Mount Pleasant

July 12, 2011 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of two men at 3826 Mount Pleasant about 10:30 p.m. on Monday (July 11).

The identities of both male victims are pending notification to family members.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Cegielski and Senior Police Officer D. Arnold reported:

The two victims, who are friends, were standing in front of the residence at the above address when at least four unidentified black males drove by in two vehicles and fired shots. One of the victims, an off-duty HISD officer, who was not in uniform, suffered a gunshot wound to his left wrist. The second victim suffered a gunshot wound to the head and shoulder and is in critical condition at a local hospital.

The motive for the shooting is unknown.

The suspects are described only as at least four black males, last seen driving in a dark-colored Saturn sedan and a second light-colored sedan of unknown make and model.
