July 25, 2011 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 2300 Barker Cypress Road about 2:15 a.m. on Saturday (July 23).

The identity of the male victim, 25, of Katy, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant I. Izaguirre and Officer T. Carter reported:

Witnesses reported the operator of a blue Kawasaki Ninja was traveling northbound on Barker Cypress and failing to drive in a single lane when the motorcycle struck a curb, causing the motorcyclist to fall.  Shortly afterward, a white SUV, also traveling northbound, appeared to run over him.  The driver of the SUV did not stop.

The investigation is continuing.
