Fatal Shooting at 8322 Park Place

June 28, 2011 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 8322 Park Place Drive about 8:40 p.m. on Monday (June 27).

The male victim, age unknown, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Torres and Senior Police Officer S. Anderson reported:

According to witnesses, two unknown males in a white Ford van pulled into a convenience store parking lot with car trouble. Both men then walked into the store, purchased beer and walked behind the store to drink. A few minutes later, several gunshots were heard coming from the area where the men were drinking. A store employee ran out to see what happened and saw one male on the ground and another unknown individual armed with a gun, jumping over a fence next to the body. The van was left at the scene.

Investigators are attempting to locate and question a male named Tony Alvarez as a possible person of interest in this case.
