March 7, 2011 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 6100 block of Aldine Bender about 2:05 a.m. on Saturday (March 5).

The female victim, a pedestrian, in her late 20s to early 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.  Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Usher and Officer D. Phan reported:

According to witnesses, the victim was walking westbound in the 6100 block of Aldine Bender when she was struck by an unknown dark-colored vehicle.

The vehicle is described only as a dark-colored Mercury van.
