Fatal Traffic Accident at 700 St. Joseph Parkway


March 7, 2011 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 700 St. Joseph Parkway at Milam about 2 a.m. on Sunday (March 6).

The identity of the male victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Usher and Officer T. Carter reported:

The driver of a blue Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling westbound on St. Joseph Parkway when he struck a blue GMC Sierra pickup truck traveling soutbound on Milam.  Witnesses said the driver of the GMC pickup ran the red light.  One of the passengers (victim) in the bed of the GMC was ejected from the truck and died at the scene.  The drivers of the Chevrolet and the GMC, as well as the other two occupants of the GMC, were transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in unknown conditions.

The investigation is continuing.
