Suspect Arrested in Fatal Shooting at 2210 Noble

November 18, 2011 - Charges are pending against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman at 2210 Noble about 5:50 p.m. on Thursday (Nov. 17).

Matthew Hollowell Layton (b/m, DOB: 1-10-85) faces a charge of murder in the shooting death of a 39-year-old female, whose identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Officers I. Ulloa and C. Cardenas reported:

Layton and the victim got into an argument, which escalated when Layton pulled a gun and shot the woman multiple times.  Witnesses stated Layton fled the scene and went to a location where he admitted to family members that he shot the woman.  A family member accompanied Layton back to the scene where he was detained by officers and subsequently charged.
