Investigation into Shots Fired at HPD Officers at 5000 Chennault

October 3, 2011 - Houston police are investigating an incident in which shots were fired at four Houston police officers in the 5000 block of Chennault about 10:50 p.m. last Friday (Sept. 30).

The officers, who did not discharge their duty weapons, were not injured in this incident.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant G. Whitehead, Senior Police Officer T. Andrade and Officers L.Carballo and R. Lujan reported:

HPD patrol officers were conducting routine patrols near the above location when they heard several gunshots in the area. Officers responded to the location and found a group of individuals near the intersection of Jutland and Chennault. As the officers conducted an investigation, several shots were fired in their direction from the west end of the street near the intersection of Chennault and Burma.

At this time, there are no known suspects.
