Fatal Traffic Accident at 2200 West Dallas

October 31, 2011 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 2200 West Dallas about 2:55 a.m. on Sunday (Oct. 30).
The male victim, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Officer D. Ashford reported:

According to witnesses, the victim was driving a silver Cadillac at a high rate of speedeastbound on West Dallas, when he hit a curb on the south side of the street. The Cadillac then went up on a sidewalk and struck two utility poles. The vehicle continued on the sidewalk, skidded on the driver's side and then struck a street sign and a palm tree. The vehicle then landed upside down in the eastbound lanes. The driver was killed and two male passengers were transported to Ben Taub General Hospital with minor injuries.
