Investigation into Fatal Traffic Accident at 7900 West FM 1960

August 28, 2012 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 7900 West FM 1960 about 10:15 p.m. on Monday (Aug. 27).


A male pedestrian, 51, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant I. Izaguirre and Officer R. Bymaster reported:

The pedestrian was crossing the street, and not in a crosswalk, when he failed to yield the right of way to the driver of a green Toyota Tacoma traveling westbound on West FM 1960. The Tacoma then struck the pedestrian. The Toyota's driver then stopped and called 911.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor and no charges are filed in this case.
