Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 5829 South Gessner

December 3, 2012 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man and the wounding of another at 5829 South Gessner about 3:30 a.m. today.


Silas Armando Najera-Hernandez, 23, of Houston, and a second shooting victim were transported to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital where Mr. Najera-Hernandez was pronounced dead. The condition of the second male victim is not known.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Blain and Senior Police Officer M. Condon reported:

Mr. Najera-Hernandez and three other males were in a white pickup truck driving around the parking lot at the above address and playing loud music. The driver of a green Lincoln SUV (possibly a Navigator) with darkly tinted windows was also loudly playing music. At some point, Mr. Najera-Hernandez parked his pickup truck near the Lincoln, at which time the SUV's driver then shot him and a passenger before fleeing the scene.
