Suspects Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 6400 West Bellfort

December 21, 2012 - Charges have been filed against three suspects arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 6400 West Bellfort about 1:10 p.m. on December 7.

The suspects are identified as David Kindle (b/m, DOB: 8-8-90), Tommie Lee Nicholson (b/m, DOB: 11-24-83) and Marquis Diamond (b/m, DOB: 9-24-89). Each is charged with capital murder in the 174th State District Court. They are accused in the killing of Steven Ogden, 59, of Houston.

Photos of the three suspects are not available at this time, pending further investigation.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Burton and Officer I. Duplechain reported:

Mr. Ogden was discovered deceased in the backseat of a vehicle in the parking lot of an apartment complex at the above address. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Witnesses said three black males were seen leaving the scene shortly after the shooting.

Further investigation revealed Ogden had befriended Nicholson after moving into the area last month. The two agreed on arranging a ride for Ogden to pick up and cash his social security check. Nicholson conspired with Diamond and Kindle to rob Ogden of his cash. Soon after the money was picked up, Diamond fatally shot Ogden during the robbery.

All three suspects were arrested on Wednesday (Dec. 19) without incident and subsequently charged.
Anyone with additional information on the suspects is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
