Update: Suspects Charged, Wanted in Fatal Shooting at 11939 Bissonnet

February 9, 2012 - Charges have been filed against two suspects wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 11939 Bissonnet about 1 a.m. on Oct. 29, 2011.


One suspect, Miguel Angel Rangel (H/m, DOB: 3-4-92), is charged with murder and the other suspect, Ariel Montoya (H/m, DOB: 3-10-94), is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Both are charged in the 230th State District Court. Photos of Rangel and Montoya are attached to this news release.

The two are wanted in the death of Luis Armando Rodriguez, 18, of Houston, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers D. W. Arnold and C. T. Hufstedler reported:

Mr. Rodriguez was walking through the parking lot of the Royal Palace party hall at the above location. A beige or gray sports utility vehicle, believed to be a GMC Envoy or Chevrolet Trailblazer, drove by and several shots were fired from the driver's side window. Rodriguez was fatally struck. The suspect was described only as a Hispanic male, 18 to 20 years of age.

Further investigation led to the identities of Rangel and Montoya as the suspects in this incident. Montoya has several aliases, including Kevin Molina, Arial Posada and Ariel Molina.
