January 3, 2012 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 10500 Stella Link about 4 a.m. on Sunday (Jan. 1). 

The identity of the female victim, 29, who was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital and later pronounced dead, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. 

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold reported: 

A white Honda Accord was traveling southbound on Stella Link when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle went up onto a median and struck a tree.  Both the male driver, 33, and female passenger were transported to Ben Taub General Hospital.  The passenger (victim) died and the driver remains hospitalized in an unknown condition. 

The investigation is continuing.
