Suspect Arrested in Fatal Shooting at 3095 Las Palmas

January 12, 2012 - Charges are pending against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman at 3095 Las Palmas about 9 p.m. on Wednesday (Jan. 11).

The suspect, James Allen Rogers (A/m, DOB: 2-1-85), faces a murder charge in the shooting of his mother, Reyna Rogers, 50.  Ms. Rogers suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Jewell, Senior Police Officer B. Evans and Officer K. Meek reported:

Officers responded to the above location on a discharge of firearms call and observed Ms. Rogers inside a townhome.  She had been shot numerous times.  Paramedics were called and transported Rogers to the hospital where she died.

The suspect, James Rogers, was taken into custody at the scene without incident.
