Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 3618 Bloomfield

January 17, 2012 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 3618 Bloomfield about 5:15 p.m. on Saturday (Jan. 14).

The victim, Michael Ray Cooper, 28, of the above address, was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. R. Elsbury and Senior Police Officer R. P. Martinez reported:

At about 12:15 p.m, Mr. Cooper opened the door to his residence at the above location and allowed a male suspect inside.  At some point during the visit, the suspect shot and killed Cooper.  After the shooting, two additional suspects entered the residence and ransacked the home.

The suspects, described only as three black males, were last seen in a possibly brown or tan Chevrolet Tahoe, Chevrolet Suburban or GMC Yukon.
