Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 894 Augusta Drive

January 17, 2012 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman at 894 Augusta Drive about 11:40 p.m. on Sunday (Jan. 15).

The victim, Gelareh Bagherzadeh, 30, of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. C. Padilla and Senior Police Officer R. L. Bolton reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a discharge of firearms call at 800 Augusta Drive about 11:45 p.m. When officers arrived, they found no evidence of shots fired nor a shooting and cleared the scene.  About 45 minutes later, HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting just-occurred call at 894 Augusta Drive.  When officers arrived, they found a vehicle had run into a garage door at that location with the engine running and tires spinning on the pavement.  Ms. Bagherzadeh was found slumped over in the driver's seat.  HFD paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced her dead.

Homicide investigators responded to the scene and were told by witnesses that several gunshots were heard, a crash and then tires squealing.

There is no known motive nor suspect(s) at this time.
